This may sound ridiculous, but the ways so many go about it these days…well.

By now you’ve read the ads and heard all the hype. For nickels to nothing, you can turn your PC or MAC into a professional recording studio. Just buy the Home Groan Studio PC-tracker or Mac Attacker, install, then plug in, and start making all the lovely music—just like those major labels produce so beautifully.

You get home with your HGS-PC version 3.1, play the audio demo, smile a mile, install, and that’s all. What? You quickly realize that you got what you paid for. If all you wish to do is create music to enjoy yourself with no ambitions towards bigger better things or to just sketch a song idea, you’re home free with your home studio. However if you’ve purchase the software (or self-contained hardware) with thoughts in mind of shopping your creations to the big league, you now have a very important decision to make. You are either going to build a more efficient recording studio [see “Buy a cow…] or you are going to utilize the expertise and advanced equipment to be found in an established facility. Hint: How many times do you buy a jet to fly off on vacation?

The answer is simple. If your goal is to go into the studio business or become a recording engineer, load up and learn all that you need to learn to be as good as you need to be in the big leagues. If what you would rather do is spend your time creating, then keep your basic studio, create and sequence or record your ideas, then leave the driving to us.

Think of Lake Gennesaret SPS as a music version of Kinkos (or something analogously upscale). Kinkos has millions of dollars worth of professional office equipment—laser printers, color printers, advanced copiers, binding machines, etc. I enjoy the use of this gear at as little as 16 cents a visit. Lake Gennesaret would never consider spending as much on printing equipment as Kinkos because we’re not interested in starting a printing business. As such, all I need do is design my documents at home, print out a hard copy on my humble inkjet printer or bring along a usable file, and when I want a laser printed master and copies, and let Kinkos do what they were designed to do.

At Lake Gennesaret SPS, we have immediate access to over 250 separate instruments (not to be confused with the 128 instrument sounds in a GM instrument) and effects processors. From these, we have amassed a sound and effects library of more than 50,000 patches, sounds, loops, and samples.

We can take your Standard MIDI Files, created on even the most basic sequencers and workstations, and import them into our state-of-the-art production platform. Unfortunately, too few have had the opportunity of recording in a world class studio. …the kind seen in the music videos and magazine. These are multi-million dollar facilities containing millions of dollars of recording hardware. Technological advancements have afforded us the opportunity to acquire the power of such studios. Taking your MIDI files and/or separated wave files, we will transform even the roughest sounding demo into something virtually indistinguishable from songs produced on budgets that could buy a nice house.
